History
Chartered on August 25, 1938, Sioux Empire Federal Credit Union was originally started to offer not-for-profit financial services to the employees of the City of Sioux Falls. Over the years Sioux Empire Federal Credit Union’s field of membership has grown to encompass anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Minnehaha, Lincoln, McCook and Turner County. Today Sioux Empire Federal Credit Union is a full service Credit Union with over 80 million in assets and 10,000+ members.

From our humble beginnings operating out of a closet in City Hall utilizing a cigar box as a cash drawer, our focus still remains the same today—our members.

Our mission is to empower our membership to make financial decisions to achieve their dreams. Our vision is to be the financial resource of choice in our community.
