Sioux Empire Federal Credit Union Wins
First Place Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award & More!
April 30, 2018 Fargo, ND — Sioux Empire Federal Credit Union has received a 1st Place 2018 Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award for their support of the 80 Rocks Project. This award, supported by the Credit Union Association of the Dakotas, recognizes credit unions for their involvement and achievements in community projects and commitment to social responsibility. Award winners were recognized during the 2017 CUAD Annual Summit held in Deadwood, South Dakota.
Sioux Empire FCU embraced a dedication to sustaining their community ties through the “80 R.O.C.K.s” Project. They used the R.O.C.K. acronym to put a personal spin on the project — R.O.C.K. stands for “Received Our Care and Kindness.” Staff members and Credit Union volunteers spent their time and talents to complete random acts of kindness. When completing a R.O.C.K., a postcard was exchanged that described our birthday project and provided a brief explanation of what it means to be a financial cooperative.

In addition to receiving the Dora Maxwell Award, Sioux Empire Federal Credit Union also received a Marketing & Communications award for the comprehensive marketing efforts during the 80th year of the Credit Union. These efforts included television commercials, digital advertising, and in branch postings that had a central theme of recognizing the humble beginnings of Sioux Empire FCU, and encouraged positive growth for the organization.
