Your Credit Union and COVID-19

Recently we announced changes on how we will operate our Credit Union in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are striving to make the best decisions with two goals in mind: The first is to protect our members, employees, their families, and our community. The second is to do the best we can to serve the thousands of Sioux Empire members, some of whom are looking to us for increasingly vital technology tools to stay connected to their financial lives.

We are actively practicing ‘social distancing’ and will not make any employee work if they are uncomfortable doing so. Several employees are working from home, and if an employee is sick, or caring for someone in their home who is sick, or needs to provide care for their children home from school, or is impacted by the definition of “high risk,” we are paying them.

Financial Assistance

Free Skip Payments

We encourage those with loans at the Credit Union to utilize our Skip-a-Pay Program. All consumer loans including mortgages are eligible to participate in the Skip-a-Pay Program.

Fees associated with completing a skip payment will be waived at this time.

Any member wanting to exercise this option is encouraged to give us a call or visit their online banking portal and look for the lime green ‘SP’ logo next to eligible loans.

Increased ATM/Debit Card Daily Limits

We realize members may need access to funding at this time to assist with purchases and every day spending cash.

To best assist our members that may need additional funding during this time and are unable to visit our teller lines, we have increased daily personal limits on debit purchases and ATM cash advances.

ATM Foreign Fee Waiver

Our Advantage ATM Network provides over 55,000 no fee, surcharge-free ATMs. As an added relief, our Credit Union will be waiving foreign ATM fees for our members. (Please note, this does not include fees assessed by the ATM itself, only out-of-network fees.)

Financial Relief Loan

For those members impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, suffering a loss of income, we are offering a financial relief loan as assistance:

• 0.00% APR (Annual Percentage Rate)
• Maximum amount of $1,200
• Maximum term of 12 months
• First payment not required for up to 60 days

All loan documents can be digitally signed with our e-signature capabilities.

KOFE Financial Education Assistance

Our financial literacy partners at KOFE have assembled a variety of courses, tips, and downloadable content to assist you in keeping your finances strong during this time. They also offer free financial coaching if you prefer one-to-one guidance navigating your current finances. KOFE services are provided at no cost to all Sioux Empire FCU members.

IRS Economic Impact Payments

You may have already received or will be receiving and Economic Impact Payment from the IRS. If you have questions about how much you will receive and when it will appear in your account please visit the IRS Information Center.

If you’re curious about how to check for pending ACH transactions on your Sioux Empire FCU account, you can log into It’sMe247 Online Banking, click ‘My Accounts’, and then ‘ACH Transactions’. You can also view pending ACH transactions via your mobile device by following the instructions below.
